*Lou was born at the Subic Bay U.S. Naval Station in Zambales, Philippines, to a Filipino mom and an American military dad. He is an American actor and director. His breakthrough came when he starred in the film La Bamba as Ritchie Valens. He earned a supporting actor Golden Globe Award nomination for his role in Stand and Deliver and a Tony Award nomination for his role in The King and I.
10. HAILEE STEINFELD: Oscar-nominated actress
*Her maternal grandfather is Filipino and her mother is Filipino interior designer Cheri Domasin-Steinfeld. She rose to fame for her portrayal of Mattie Ross in the 2010 film True Grit for which she was nominated for an Academy award for Best supporting actress. She played Juliet Capulet in the 2013 film adaptation of William Shakespear’s romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet and many other films.
11. Shannyn Sossamon: Actress and Musician
*She cites a mix of ethnicities as her heritage, Filipino among them. She is an American actress and musician and starred in the films A Knight’s Tale, 40 days and 40 nights, Wristcutters: A love Story, The Order and Road to Nowhere. As a musician she provided vocals and drums to Warpaint from 2004 to2008, when she left the band.
12. DARREN CRISS: Actor and musician
*His mom was born in Cebu. He isbest known for his portrayal of Blaine Anderson (2010–present), an openly gay student, on the Fox musical-comedy series Glee.
