LOOK: Philippine-Made Firearms Were Posted Online. Netizens Praised The Designs

Philippine-made rifles were posted on Tuesday by Facebook Fan page Daily Duterte. It was showed in an exhibit that PNP Chief 'Bato' Dela Rosa has attended. He inspected the different kinds of firearms. The netizens suggested that the PNP should use Philippine made guns instead of purchasing from abroad.

"Hantik" is one of those weapons. It is a Tagalog for “Philippine Fire Ant”—which are angry little creatures whose bite is not something you would soon forget, should you be unlucky enough to run afoul with one (let alone a whole bunch of them). It seems this is a very fitting name for United Defense Manufacturing Corporation’s (UDMC) new AR-15-inspired .22LR semi-automatic carbine which, we expect, will draw favorable attention from those enamored with “black” rifles.

Netizens praised the designs and hoping that the current government start to produce Philippine-made weapons after the U.S. State Department stopped the planned sale of 26,000 assault rifles to the PNP after U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin, the top Democrat on the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee opposed on the bloody war on drugs of President Duterte.

When asked for his response in stopping the planned sale, PNP Chief 'Bato' said if it will not pursue, then perhaps they will go to China.

"We really wanted the U.S. rifles because these are reliable. But if the sale will not push through, we will find another source, maybe from China," Dela Rosa said.

Government officials believes that it's already time that the country produce their own weapons that would give jobs to the Filipino. Netizens agreed that Filipinos should patronize their own product because it is something that it should be proud of.
