Nadia Montenegro Was in Tears During Daughter's Audition on The Voice Teens

The daughter of actress Nadia Montenegro and late Caloocan City mayor Macario "Boy" Asistio Jr. tried her luck on  The Voice Teens Auditions last May 13 Saturday.

Nadia's teen daughter Samantha performed "Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak," a song originally performed by Sugarfree.

Nevertheless, the 13-year-old hopeful failed to make it since The Voice coaches did not turn their chairs for her.

Sarah asked the teen: "Para kanino dedicated itong audition performance mo?"

Samantha answered, "Dinededicate ko po itong performance ko para po sa daddy ko who passed away."

It was then shown onscreen that Nadia, who was watching at the other side of the stage, burst into tears.

The coaches explained why they did not turn their chairs for Samantha.

“I think because it’s a competition, nag-focus ka doon sa siguro yung akala mo adlibs, or yung paglakas ng boses Remember this: when you start singing and you feel the words, you just follow where your heart takes you. Yung boses mo, because you already have it, it’s going to take you there" Sharon told Samantha.

Coach Lea then gave advice for Nadia's daughter: "You are 13 years old. There’s so much time in front of you and I am sure there’s a lot of that performance na naimpluwensyahan ng pagkamatay ng papa mo plus nerves being on that stage.

"Ganun lang naman talaga. That’s just the reality of what these auditions are. Go ahead and explore.

Enjoy the time with your family. You are a beautiful girl."

The coaches also gave Samantha and Nadia a hug.

Boy Asistio, died last February 6 after suffering from a mild stroke.
